Arrested Development a New Season and a Movie?!

So what did you think the chances that Mitch Hurwitz would actually come through and make the Arrested Development movie?  My hopes have been high but my expectations pretty low since all I have heard were just rumors and nothing official.  One rumor I had heard were that stars like Michael Cera had been holding out and that he had outgrown his socially awkward teenager role of George Michael Bluth.  With such roles in Juno, Superbad, Nick and Norah’s I.P., Scott Pilgrim and Youth in Revolt I can see why *insert sarcasm*.

BUT now we actually have some actual news right out of the horse’s mouth.  Not only are we going to see a new feature length film but supposedly nine to ten new episodes of Arrested development!

At a recent reunion of the cast at a New Yorker event Hurwitz told the crowd “We’re trying to do a limited-run series into the movie. We’re basically hoping to do nine or 10 episodes, with almost one character per episode.”

It seems each episode will center on an individual character and what they have been up to for the past five to six years since the cancelation.  And it will all come to a close when they all finally meet up in the movie.

Showtime/Netflix look to be possible outlets who could air the show in the fall of 2013. But who knows?

So we’ve got that going for us…which is nice.  But I still won’t believe it until I see it.

So I will end with this message for Mitch Hurwitz. Pics or STFU! 🙂
